AROUND DROOMKERKE

  • The neo-Gothic church of Doomkerke, dedicated to St. Charles Borromeo and built in 1865, is one of the finest examples of neo-Gothic eclecticism in the region.
    Pastor Carolus Doom was the founder and driving force behind the project — the parish was named after him: Doomkerke.

  • Blues and jazz fans can enjoy live music at Banana Peel (since 1966), a cosy blues & jazz club in Ruiselede. International artists like Dana Gillespie & the London All Stars regularly perform here. Highly recommended!

CYCLING

Our Bed & Breakfast is located on the 'Brugse Ommeland' cycling network.
This means 900 kilometers of cycling fun in one of the greenest tourist regions of West Flanders and East Flanders. Safe, flat and attractive cycle paths are connected into a network. Where two or more cycle routes intersect, a cycle junction is created.

You plan your cycle route yourself based on the junctions. You determine the length of your journey yourself. The kilometer indications on the map can help you with this. You cycle 'à la carte'.

WALKING AND HIKING

  • Thanks to the distance indications, you can walk à la carte in the 'Bulskampveld' walking network. These take you along and through the largest contiguous forest between West Flanders and East Flanders.
     
  • On the Parochieveldroute (8.5 km) you explore the wooded area of ​​Ruiselede.
     
  • The Disveld landscape park in the shadow of the church tower of Doomkerke, a pure piece of nature with views and open landscape.
    There is a play forest and playing field, a play marsh, an educational pool, a sheep meadow, picnic benches and an open-air theater.
     
  • The Bulskampveld provincial domain (8 km from the B&B) encompasses 300 hectares of forests, meadows, fields and heathland. Explore the castle park and opt for the Park Walk. After a visit to the herb garden, chicken farm, agricultural museum and playground, you end at the play and sunbathing lawn with cafeteria.
